In Memoriam: Alan Wildeman
Geneticist, musician, poetic philosopher and Prairie farm boy. Wildeman was all of those.
After a brief illness, Alan Wildeman passed on Tuesday June 16/26.
We feel a great personal sense of loss and express our deepest sympathy to his family. As founding chair of the CBG’s Board of Directors, Alan not only catalyzed its selection as one of Canada’s Major Research Infrastructures but guided its development from 2023 through 2026. We are profoundly grateful for the time, wisdom, and generous support he gave to the CBG over this interval. These contributions reinforced his tremendously successful career as a faculty member at the University of Guelph, as its Vice-President Research, and as President of the University of Windsor.
